Corporate Housing

Corporate housing can be long or short term. If you're on a business trip that will take longer than a few days, you probably would not want to stay in a hotel.  That's where corporate housing comes in. There are apartments in almost every major city that will suit your professional and personal needs.

Most of these apartments are completely furnished and are quite comfortable. They are conveniently located to have almost everything you will need within walking distance.  There are usually several public transportation options that are readily accessible, making it easy to get around.  They are also located near the city's major airports.

Some of these company houses are in the settings that are extremely beautiful. You almost don't want to leave them.  And some cities offer townhouses or furnished suites with many services that help the business traveler unwind after a hard day's toil.

Some business travelers prefer a hotel atmosphere; so there are extended stay hotels. Most of them offer fully equipped kitchens, cable TV, wireless Internet, and laundry services. There is a choice of suites to fit in any budget.  Even if the company is paying for your stay, there are generally budget restrictions. To suit your budget requirements most of the extended stay hotels have daily, weekly, or monthly rates.

But the question remains why would you want to stay in corporate housing or extended stay hotels?  Well, suppose you're working on an extended job away from home, and a regular hotel would either not let you book a room for that kind of time frame or it would be so expensive that it wouldn't be worth it. Apart from this, extended stay hotels have fully equipped kitchens, linens, unlimited local phone use, data ports and personalized voice mail, housekeeping services, laundry facilities, high speed Internet access, and some others have Wi-Fi, exercise centers and pools. All this kind of makes you want to stay there even if you're not on a business trip.

Some larger companies own housing units that they may use for their executives when they have to go out of town.  The initial purchase price of such housing units usually pays for itself in the long run. These units are fully stocked with any amenity a person could need. A company large enough to buy their own housing units spares no expense when it comes to keeping their top executives happy.

However, before you scramble to climb the corporate ladder, remember that most business travelers stay in less luxurious corporate housing units. That is not to say that they don't have all amenities, rather they do; some more than the others. These units are clean, comfortable, and more than accommodating for any type of business travel.
